Receiving income from a RRIF

Starting in the year after you establish a RRIF, you must receive a minimum amount each year using a predetermined formula based on the value of the RRIF and your age. While you must withdraw the minimum required, there is no maximum limit. You can withdraw as much as you wish.

The income you receive from your RRIF(s) is taxable. You will receive a T4-RRIF tax slip and must enter these payments as income on your tax return for the year you receive them.
